We are Ian and Ali Burton. For several years Ali toyed with the idea of moving to Spain, probably to retire. When we met, Ian was all for the idea and after some discussion we thought "Why wait?" That was two years ago and now we have a ruin and a few hundred square metres in the glorious Alpujarran campo.

          Our life here is wonderful.                               But Spain has more sun!

Don,t get me wrong there are many things and people we love in the UK, but when we go to our little piece of Spain it feels like we are back home. We have both worked hard and feel like now is the time to think about slowing down a bit, not that it won't be hard work rebuilding and making our cortijo into a home, but it is work we cannot wait to start
