The plan that Ali and I have may seem a little crazy to some. We have decided to move, lock stock and barrel to an area in Spain which at the very least could be described as rural.  Actually it is so remote, we need binoculars to see the neighbours!!

Initially we just want to make it basically habitable, structurally sound etc. At this moment in time we are waiting for final quotes. We had a couple about a year ago, one was OK, one was rediculously expensive! Due to the current climate we are now waiting on a couple more as things have changed dramatically, not least, the exchange rate which has done us no favours. We have made a decision that this is the year to move over, either into the property if we can restore part of it, or in a caravan on site.

Long term we want to run some kind of business from home and be as self-sufficient as is possible. I have a hankering to keep bees although that does not seem to be a major pastime in the Alpujarras so I will probably find that bees don't like almonds or something (almonds being the  predominant flowering crop).
